What Sonen is

Sonen generates sound in your browser. Nothing is a recording and nothing loops — the audio is synthesised live as you listen, so no two sessions are identical.

Sonen is not a medical device and makes no health claims. It is not treatment for any condition and not a substitute for medical advice. If you have epilepsy or are sensitive to flickering images, note that the visuals move continuously.

Accounts

You sign in with your email address; there is no password. Anyone with access to your email can sign in as you, so keep it secure. You must be 16 or over. One account is for one person.

Membership

Sonen is free to use, with sessions limited to twenty minutes. Membership removes that limit and adds the sleep timer, Gentle Wake, and preferences that follow you between devices.

Membership is £7.99 per month or £72 per year, or the price shown to you in your own currency, always including any VAT or sales tax, and renews automatically until cancelled. Prices may change, but never for an existing membership before its next renewal, and you will be told at least 30 days beforehand.

Founding membership. For a limited number of people, membership is also offered for a single payment of £199, or the price shown to you in your own currency, including any VAT or sales tax. It never renews and is never charged again. It includes everything membership includes, now and as Sonen grows, for as long as Sonen Ltd runs Sonen. It belongs to your account: it cannot be passed to anyone else, and it ends if you delete the account. If we ever stop running Sonen, we will tell founding members at least 90 days beforehand. If you are paying monthly or yearly when you become a founding member, that plan is stopped for you and runs to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Who sells it. Memberships are sold by Onelink, Stripe’s merchant of record service, on behalf of Sonen Ltd. Onelink takes the payment, handles the tax for your country, sends your receipts and appears on your bank statement as LINK.COM* SONEN. Sonen Ltd provides the service itself, and everything in these terms still applies. Memberships that began before Onelink sold them on our behalf carry on being billed by Sonen Ltd through Stripe, as before.

Cancelling

Cancel at any time from the Manage membership button, which opens Stripe’s billing portal, or from your orders at link.com. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. See Cancellation & refunds for your right to a refund.

Fair use

Please do not resell access, share one account across an organisation, or redistribute the audio as your own work. If you would like to provide Sonen to a team, email hello@sonen.co.uk — that is something we can arrange properly.

Intellectual property

Sonen belongs to Sonen Ltd. That includes the software — the engine that makes the sound, the code that draws the pictures, and everything else that runs on your device — along with its design, the name “Sonen” and the Sonen mark. It is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use Sonen for your own listening. It is not a licence to anything else, and it ends if you break these terms.

You may not:

None of this takes away any right the law gives you that cannot be excluded by contract — including the rights in the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to make a back-up copy and to decompile software where that is necessary for interoperability.

If you think someone has copied Sonen, please tell us at hello@sonen.co.uk.

Availability

Sonen is provided as it is. We aim to keep it running but cannot promise uninterrupted service, and features may change as the product develops. If the service is withdrawn entirely, any unused portion of a paid period will be refunded.

Sonen needs a modern browser with Web Audio support. Because the sound is generated on your own device, performance depends on that device.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise our liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, whose courts have jurisdiction. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
